Fuinneamh Festival 2017
If you thought festival season had ended, then check this out! Some of Ireland’s most talented Musicians, DJs, Producers, Artists and Performers collaborate to bring you a Festival of psychologically enthralling wonder and beauty.
Fuinneamh is an Arts and Music Festival taking place at Loughcrew House & Gardens, Oldcastle, Co. Meath from Friday to Sunday.
Expect 6 stages designed and inspired by this enchanted Emerald Isle., 6 auxiliary entertainment areas showcasing performances, poetry, storytelling, spoken word, yoga, healing workshops, craft workshops, science gallery exhibition installations, virtual reality experiences and much more.

Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is back in Dublin for its 9th edition! Needless to say the event is always lots of fun. The Festival kicked off this Thursday and runs for 18 days bringing the best of the German culture. Expect live music, traditional food and obviously loads of beer.
Feel free to wear your traditional Bavarian costume and have fun!

Dublin Fringe Festival
Dublin Fringe is an amazing Arts festival that will take you to places you have never been to before. Let’s go and see the theatre, music, comedy, dance and much more. It’s a knockout sixteen days with more than 400 events being presented in over 30 venues right across the city in buildings and outdoor spaces. The festival is a great opportunity for artists to innovate, bring new and bold ideas and attract adventurous audiences.

BlueFire Street Fest 2017
If you don’t have plans for Saturday but would love to enjoy a one day Festival full of music and arts you should check out the BlueFire Street Festival which is back this year and even bigger at Smithfield Square, Dublin. The family friendly event offers workshops, street performances, graffiti jam, pop up performances, youth talks, market fair (with food, craft & art), kids area and a line-up of musicians, bands and performances playing a variety of musical styles.

Closing Night
If, like me, you love cabaret shows then you can’t miss this very special event going on this Friday and Saturday!
After “Ich Liebe Dich Cabaret” — one of the hottest tickets in the Dublin Fringe Festival 2016, Film Fatale are back in the event with their new cabaret show Closing Night. This promises to be a Cabaret show with all the sparkle, energy, fun and spectacle of their famous parties.
Hosted by cabaret superstar Dusty Limits, Closing Night brings the audience on a journey through the theatres history from vaudeville, variety, showtunes and musical numbers to Burlesque and the avant garde.
Join Film Fatale for an intimate evening of classic cabaret performance, burlesque and old school vaudeville, set to a soundtrack of broadway hits and cabaret solos.

Rainbow Run 2017
Ireland’s biggest colour run takes place this Saturday and you can run, jog or walk the 5km route on Dún Laoghaire’s West Pier while getting blasted with colourful paint as you pass through five zones of music.
The run ends in a festival village where the fun continues with ’90s cover band Smash Hits pumping out the tunes.
Get some exercise and have lots of fun at the same time!

Dax J – At District 8
District 8 receives none other than Dax J this Saturday! Dax J is a London born, Berlin based artist, known as a powerful DJ, producer and label boss. His trademark sound is on constant rotation from the biggest DJ’s in electronic music today.
2016 saw Dax voted into Resident Advisor’s top 100 DJ’s at No.56. He was also nominated by Mixmag, Groove Magazine and DJ Mag as best breakthrough DJ. He played closing sets at monumental parties including Awakenings for ADE in the Gashoulder as well as a 10-hour marathon set in the worlds most notorious techno club, Berghain.

Josh Wink – At Hangar
One of the true legends of the 90’s dance music scene will be playing at Hangar this Saturday. Josh Wink has been one of the few artists that has managed to perform at the highest levels of electronic music consistently since the early 90’s. He has laid down club classics such as “Don’t Laugh” and “Higher State of Consciousness” which, to date, still destroys dance floors.

Soundstream – At Pygmalion
This Saturday Soundstream (aka Frank Timm aka Soundhack aka one half of Smith n Hack) brings the best of his electronic music to Pygmalion. His sample heavy, tight spliced, looped up trademark sound is instantly recognizable and has made every new release a buy-on-sight event. As a DJ, he has carved out a reputation as one of the most impressive regulars at Panorama Bar in his home town of Berlin, with his high octane extended sets lighting up those hazy weekends. Expect a similarly extended set at Pyg too.
Colin Perkins and Daire Carolan will be playing on the night as well.

Upstairs Kraft presents an evening of Kraut and psychedelic supergroupery featuring a myriad of magical musicians from across Dublin’s sonic landscape. Featuring an improvised set by Jenkinson/Kehoe/Kitt/McAuley and the first Dublin show from Ickis Mirolo’s SMUTT project featuring a rotating cast of futuristic favourites. Sam Burton, Tadhg O’Sullivan and Jason McNamara are along for this journey.

Prok & Fitch, one of the most exciting DJ/production duos in House music at the moment, will be playing the party at the Button Factory this Saturday.

IFI Open Day 2017
Experience a whole day of FREE screenings while the IFI throws open its doors to guests. Get a glimpse at the inner workings of the IFI Irish Film Archive and grab a place on the highly coveted Projection Booth tour, you can even touch their 70mm projector!
In addition to free screenings of old favourites and archive gems, you will also have a chance to learn about the incredible preservation, digitisation and restoration work of the IFI Irish Film Archive team at the ever-popular ‘Ask the Archivists’ desk.
You will get to enjoy a jazz brunch in the IFI Café Bar or afternoon BBQ on their renovated terrace as well.
Tickets – They will be distributing tickets for each film in the IFI Foyer one hour before each screening starts. Limited tickets for the Gala Cine-concert will be available at 18.30. Tickets for all shows are strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early to avoid disappointment! Maximum of two tickets per person, per film.

Foil, Arms and Hog – OinK
Up for some laughter this weekend? Check this out! Ireland’s top comedy sketch group Foil Arms and Hog will perform their new live show at the Abbey Theatre as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival.
The Irish sketch group formed by Sean Finegan, Conor McKenna and Sean Flanagan perform on TV, radio, stage and YouTube. They work out of an office in Dublin where they write, film and edit their own sketches for their YouTube channel. They do a new video every Thursday, sometimes topical, but mostly completely random. Some of their more successful sketches are ‘How to Speak Dublin‘, ‘A Kerryman gives Directions‘ and ‘The Ryanair Song’.

Indian Film Festival Of Ireland
The annual Indian Flim Festival of Ireland is taking place this weekend. The purpose of the event is to make Indian films more mainstream and to introduce people in Ireland to the global appeal and popularity of Indian cinema. The festival also aims to create an environment of collaboration between Irish and Indian film makers and to enable the making of Indian-Irish films.
