Looking for a another cool summer music festival go to this weekend? Ah, you are not really into camping, that is ok. Longitude is a three day non-camping festival and will take place in Marlay Park. Bringing a diversity of musical styles, the event will be also receiving new Irish bands and DJ’s.

Rave of Thrones with the DJ Kristian Nairn (Hodor from Game of Thrones)

Are you a big fan of Game of Thrones? What about having Hodor playing the best house music at a themed party for you?

If you didn’t know, Kristian Nairn, the Northern Irish actor who plays Hodor in the series, is a progressive house DJ, and before becoming known by his character in Game of Thrones he used to be the resident DJ of Kremlin, a gay club in Belfast.

Nairn is in tour with The Rave of Thrones event and will be playing in the Tivoli Theatre on Saturday at a massive themed party.

“Rave Of Thrones should be a full-on party, with the magnificent Tivoli Theatre resplendent with Dothraki warriors, Whitewalkers, the Unsullied and, of course, Kahleesi’s fire breathing pets, not to mention visuals and a light show to rival a castle siege “, promised the organizers of the event.

Feel free to dress up as your favorite character of the TV show and enjoy this epic night!

Special guests: Muzz Khan, Paul Newhouse and Max Van Morrison.

If you like Hermitage Green, you can’t miss their concert in Dublin. The band that released their debut studio album Save Your Soul in March will be  in the  Bulmers Live at Leopardstown again this year with their distinctive live sound made up of hard-hitting rhythm sections, tribal beats, rhythmic guitar lines and four-part vocal harmonies.

You are a big a fan of Amy Winehouse and have not seen this amazing documentary about her life yet? Films of Note – Dublin Music Film Festival, hosted by The Sugar Club, will be screening “Amy” on Thursday night.

The award winning “AMY” tells the story of the life and death of this wonderful singer/songwriter who was one of the biggest talents of her generation. The documentary was directed by Asif Kapadia and produced by James Gay-Rees, George Pank, and Paul Bell.

In the venue you will also find  good food, drinks and a great atmosphere. The Sugar Club is one of my favourite venues in Dublin and it’s not just because it used to be The Irish Film Theatre, I love their intimate and charming auditorium and I feel like I am breathing art as soon as I walk in there.

Would like to discover a new market in Dublin? Here is my suggestion. If you have not been at the Blackrock Market in the centre of Blackrock yet, it is worth trying, there you will find 50 stalls selling collectibles, antiques, handmade goods, books, food & there’s free popcorn, ballons & facepainting for the kids. Good atmosphere, yammy food, great bargains! Perfect for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Saturdays and Bank Holidays: 11:00-17:30, and Sundays: 12:00-17:30.
