TO DANCE

LE BOOM // Whelans // Aug 6 // Midnight

13876641_1044773045576543_3399697380002632373_n

If you are in the mood for dancing on Saturday night you should probably put your dancing shoes on and head down to Whelans. Le Boom, the amazing Dublin and Brooklyn-based electro-indie-pop Band, will be playing a special late-night pre-tour show at the venue. Their unique style of music started with the Dubliner, Christy Leech, who was found performing and DJing at secret parties held by young artists in various unused warehouses around Brooklyn in summer 2015. Using a cheap guitar, a broken bass and a laptop, he recorded a series of lo-fi dance/disco infused demos and Le Boom was born.

After posting two of the demos on Youtube, Le Boom attracted national radio attention in Ireland/UK and played shows with US Girls and Vampire Weekend’s Baio but it has been Le Boom’s late night art-raves that have gained them their small but ever-growing cult-following.

In May 2016, Christy returned to a city-centre attic in Dublin to record a new set for his summer/fall shows. What We Do is the first track to be officially released by Le Boom. The track was mastered by top London producer, Matt Colton (Metronomy, Hot Chip, Caribou).

Interested? Join me this Saturday and shake it out! I won’t miss it!
