2016 also saw King Kong Company being handed the “Best Live Act 2016” award from Pure M Magazine and releasing their self-titled debut album.

17796751_1275260895844857_6633304981751298275_n

The Swedish / US Tech-House DJ Duo Pleasurekraft is back at Opium Rooms after his incredible set last year.

The idea for Pleasurekraft was created in the summer of 2009 by Kaveh Soroush and Kalle Ronngardh. Having had their very first track played by Pete Tong on his Essential Selection, and then doing remixes for Chymera, and John Acquaviva‘s Definitive imprint, Pleasurekraft became a new name to keep an eye on.

In spring 2010 Pleasurekraft had their biggest success with the track Tarantula . They soon acquired the support of world-wide DJs such as Sasha and Digweed, Nic Fanciulli, Danny Howells and Lee Burridge. On the way to the top of the charts, they even overtook Joris Voorn , Axwell and the entire Swedish House Mafia and held the first place on the Beatport Charts for a whole month.

Their remix La La Land , originally by Green Velvet , made it into the top ten of the Tech House in less than a week .

Check out Pleasurekraft’s music here!

Support comes from Frazier + Strictly Deep residents Eric Brown & AOD

They fuse the musical sounds and cultures of Eastern Europe with traditional Irish influences resulting in an engaging melodic compilation of tracks. Each band member brings their distinct musical backgrounds and tastes giving them their unique sound which makes it difficult to label their style or genre. I am a big fan of these guys!

GRAND are a Gypsy-Folk band which was conceived through a shared love of a melting pot of influences ranging from Blues to Ska, Swing and on toward Punk, Gypsy Folk and Irish folk.
