Telephones & Disco É Cultura – Day & Night Party


Dance all day and night this Saturday! The 2017 summer series of Telephones kicks off with a BYOB all-dayer followed by a night time club party at Yamamori Tengu. Disco É Cultura join them this year in the playground during the day and upstairs at Tengu for the night.

The day time party is BYOB, the night time party has a full bar.

SNTS [live] – At Hangar Warehouse


Hangar will be receiving SNTS this Friday. Anyone with a vinyl fetish and a taste for greyscale sounds will know all about him. SNTS is a German techno label with commitment to vinyl format as the main pillar. SNTS retained his anonymity by donning a black mask and keeping out of sight, which carries on today.

Massimiliano Pagliara – At Pygmalion


This Friday Pygmalion will have Massimiliano Pagliara playing on their dance floor.

Italian born, Berlin based Massimiliano Pagliara has been DJing for nearly 15 years, and has released dozens of records on some of our favorite labels, including Live at Robert Johnson, Love on the Rocks, Uncanny Valley, Cocktail d’Amore, Correspondant, and more. His 2016 The Violet Hour project with Fort Romeau is easily one of our favorite releases of the year. Massi is a true “DJ’s DJ”, known for seamlessly weaving together timeless sets of italo, disco, house, techno and electro. His eight hour Monday morning Panorama Bar sets are the stuff of legend.

This is a full venue takeover in the Opium Rooms showcasing some amazing local talents. In the main room you will have Kaily back 2 back with Dan Stritch following on from their huge set at Higher Vision and they’re joined by the very talented and renowned guiness enthusiast Cian Toner while the little brothers from Get Busy will be hosting the garden once again.

Byron The Aquarius & Sage – At Wigwam

The well established audiophile, synth fiend and house favourite Byron The Aquarius drops by the Wigwam this Saturday, fresh from DJOON, as part of his EU tour. 

With releases on both Kyle Hall‘s Wild Oats Music and Theo Parrish‘s SOUND SIGNATURE in the past year as well as a healthy background of ties to the likes of Onra, Kai Alce, Flying Lotus, Rush Hour Store and Warp Records, Byron continues to go from strength to strength.

On support duties, resident vinyl pusher at All City Records and Argot/Tasteful Nudes newcomer Sage aka Lee Kelly will be keeping things locked from early on.

Also Jimmy Rouge and the Orange Tree Edits crew will be bouncing down from their all day party in the Shaw and paying a visit to host the main floor for the night.

Nadia Rose – At The Sugar Club


This Friday The Sugar Club will be hosting a night with Nadia Rose. The 23-year-old Croydon rapper who brings her own versatile flow to a thriving genre, describes her music as ‘bassy, hard-hitting, dancehall, hip-hop infused fun’ and says she was heavily inspired by old school reggae and MCs like Lil Kim.

Nadia is clearly raising the bar for female rappers in a scene typically dominated by men.

This is a tribute to the music of AC/DC followed by Classic Rock/Metal covers performed by 9Stone Cowboy. Expect to hear hits such as Thunderstruck, Dirty Deeds, Let There Be Rock and hits from bands such as Motorhead, Thin Lizzy, ZZ Top and Judas Priest.

Dublin Sci-Fi Film Festival


Dublin Sci-Fi Film Festival is Ireland’s newest genre-specific film showcase. In its inaugural year the festival will take place from Friday to Sunday in Generator Hostel and The Light House Cinema, and comprise screenings of new features, documentaries and short films, along with classic science fiction and fantastic features from the vaults.

From golden era 50s B-Movies and 70s psychedelic cult classics, to sparkling new releases and overlooked gems, there is something here for every sci-fi nut and fantasy geek.

The Dublin Gay Theatre Festival


The Dublin Gay Theatre Festival is an annual event, celebrating the contribution of gay people to theatre, past and present.

The Festival creates new opportunities for visibility and affirmation for existing and emerging gay artists and theatrical works. The Festival’s criteria for inclusion into the programme are broadly interpreted to include works by gay writers, works that have a gay relevance or theme or works that include either performance or another artistic contribution by gay people.

This year there will be an exciting and diverse range of Irish & international theatre and events that welcomes audiences of all ages and sexual identities. Seven venues in Dublin City Centre will host world, European and Irish premieres of first-class drama, music and comedy with a completly new programme each week.

PhotoIreland Festival 2017


PhotoIreland Festival is back for its 8th edition, having moved in the calendar from July to May. The move was prompted by an eagerness to work closer with local organisations and collectives over the Autumn/Winter period to deliver content during the festival. Likewise, the move will allow PhotoIreland Foundation to offer a series of new additions to its cultural portfolio, from courses to workshops and much more, all hosted at The Library Project.

Cultura Fest


Cultura Fest is back for its second year bringing lots of great events. All events are free, but booking is essential.

The Portuguese Language Centre is delighted to present the second edition of Cultura Fest around the International Day of the Portuguese Language (5th May). This 5 day festival will showcase the language and culture of the lusophone countries – Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, East Timor, Cape Verde, Macau and Sao Tome and Principe.

The festival includes exhibitions, talks, films, performances, readings, dance, poetry, live music, food and more!

C’est Cabaret – At The Number Twenty Two

A Fabulous Market is coming back to the George Bar on Saturday, from 12:00 pm. This is a really quaint market, not too big, but charming and with interesting stuff. You will find things like fashion, home decor, vintage, jewelry, arts. The bar will be open and there will be music as well.

PureVintage May Fair


PureVintage Fair returns on Sunday to the Dublin Food Coop, Newmarket Square, Dublin 8.

If you haven’t been to this fair yet maybe it is time to go and explore it. Their selected traders bring an eclectic mix of vintage and retro collectibles, vinyl, clothing, handbags and accessories in addition to vintage inspired and original crafts.
