Stephen Fasano aka The Magician returns to District 8 after an incredible sell out show almost 2 years ago! Renowned for his huge hit Sunlight as well as massive remixes of Lykki Li and Clean Bandit amongst others, the Belgian producer has been on a roll of late. He’s also one of the most enjoyable DJ’s you’ll see, as anyone who attended his performance at this year’s Electric Picnic will attest to.

Sunil Sharpe – 6 Hour Set at District 8
Sunil Sharpe will be playing a 6 hour set at District 8 this Saturday! Sunil Sharpe is one of Europe’s most renowned and well-loved techno DJs. Gaining an enviable reputation for his DJing in the early ’00s, he was soon invited to play at Berlin’s Tresor Club, marking the start of an intensive involvement in the techno scene. Sunil has played extensively around Europe at the likes of Berghain, Fabric, Concrete, Sub Club, Glastonbury Festival and much more.

Daft Punk Tribute – At The Sugar Club
After ripping it up in Beijing, Berlin, Romania, France this incredible tribute act are performing in Dublin’s legendary The Sugar Club.
After 20 years, the world has finally caught up with Daft Punk, the illusive helmet-clad retro-futurists with whom the world has become so familial. Their infectious dance music, up-beat rhythmic vibe, robotic counterparts and truly epic live shows have been the staple diet of some the biggest and most well-renowned festivals since the release of their revolutionary debut album Alive in 1997.

If you’re kicking off your weekend on Thursday and would like to go out and dance, you should know that Daithí is bringing his electronic music to Button Factory.
Obsessed with Irish culture, Daithí has made a name for himself across the country for his unique live electronic fiddle sets. Since the start of his career, Daithí has been known as an Irish fiddle player using electronics to boost traditional Irish music into something unique and different. Before even releasing a record, Daithí was supporting Santigold, The XX, Macklemore and DJ Shadow on Irish dates across the country.

The very talented Loah will be performing an intimate gig at Marrowbone Books this Thursday.
Loah is an artist of Irish / Sierra Leonean origin who grew up between Ireland and West Africa. She’s embarking on an ambitious solo career, combining her unique blend of genre-bending Afro-soul which she calls “ArtSoul”. In what has been a phenomenal first couple of years in action, she has released four stunning singles/videos (“Nothing” from the EP This Heart, “The Bailey”, “Cortege” and “Take It” with Irish producer Bantum) and co-written with Hozier “Someone New” among others. She’s sold out numerous headline shows in Dublin and abroad and has appeared at various festivals.

Imelda May is performing at 3Arena this Friday. Born and raised in The Liberties area of Dublin, Imelda May has become one of Ireland’s most celebrated female artists. Discovered by Jools Holland, who asked Imelda to support him on tour, Imelda has gone on to perform alongside legendary artists including Lou Reed, Bono and Smokey Robinson. Her previous album ‘Tribal’ debuted at #1 in Ireland and #3 in the UK.
Imelda released the empowering video for new single Should’ve Been You, which has received huge coverage online particularly in regards to the women’s rights issues it draws attention to.

Yankari – At Sin É
Yankari will bring their energetic music to Sin É this Friday. The band aspire to advance the original Afrobeat genre by incorporating contemporary sounds, such as, jazz, funk, dance, rock-and-roll whilst keeping the traditional groove elements of Afrobeat.
Yankari founding members, brothers Segun and Michael Akano along with Uché Gabriel Akujobi, are originally from Nigeria and came together in Dublin while playing at various gigs around the city. Gradually through the love of music and rhythms from their Yoruba and Igbo cultures they created the groovy and energetic sound that is reminiscent of the Afrobeat greats of the 60’s and 70’s but with a modern twist.

The Sound of Music – At the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre
Bill Kenwright’s production of one of the greatest family musicals of all time, The Sound of Music, will play this Christmas season at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre until Saturday 6 January 2018.
The Sound of Music tells the true story of the world-famous singing family, from their romantic beginnings and search for happiness, to their thrilling escape to freedom as their beloved Austria becomes part of the Third Reich at the start of WWII.
The unforgettable score features some of the most memorable songs ever performed on stage, including ‘Edelweiss’, ‘My Favorite Things’, ‘Do-Re-Mi’, ‘Climb Ev’ry Mountain’, ‘So Long, Farewell’ and of course, the title song, ‘The Sound of Music’.
