Helena Hauff has had a massive rise to fame over the past few years. Helena’s sound is intense, electrified, futuristic, but with strong traces of underlying emotionalism and experimentalism.
DeFeKT [aka Matthew Flanagan] has been a tireless advocate of true Electro and Techno, steadily honing his hardware-based sound that has earned him admirers all through the electronic music community.

One of the most prolific producers in the UK, Simon Neale aka Shadow Child returns to Dublin for a massive show at the Button Factory! Lumo with Cian Ó Cíobháin – At Yamamori Tengu
Lumo is back for its 28th night across two floors at Yamamori Tengu with the special guest Cian Ó Cíobháin. You can also expect Lumo Club DJs to be playing all night.
Cian Ó Cíobháin’s background is in club DJing and radio. He has been presenting An Taobh Tuathail (The Other Side) on RTE RnaG since 1999 and is best known as the founder of Galway’s 110th Street club night.

Whelan’s Ones to Watch 2018
Whelan’s Ones to Watch festival is back! Now in it’s 8th year, they are continuing their quest to find the best emerging talent in the country, whilst also showcasing artists that have taken the next step and are planning releases in 2018.
The festival takes place from Thursday to Sunday and covers a wide range of music, from Folk, Indie, Hip Hop, Electronic, Experimental, Rock and more in between.
There’ll be a free pint of Hop House 13 with every ticket purchased.

Films of Note Festival
Films of Note Festival is a month long celebration of music films, documentaries, live concerts, biopics and uncategorisable marvels.
The festival’s programme features old classics, new favourites, and a few films that deserve a wider audience. With pop, hip-hop, rock, punk, R&B, jazz and soul on the bill there is something to suit everyone.
The event will be hosted at The Sugar Club and there could not be a better setting for a festival of this nature, with a beautiful atmosphere, great food, drink offers and custom cocktails.

Special Screening of ‘Loving Vincent’
A special screening of Loving Vincent, the fully painted animated feature, starring Saoirse Ronan will take place in the inspiring surroundings of the Gallery this Thursday.
Loving Vincent explores the life and controversial death of Vincent Van Gogh, told by his paintings and by the characters that inhabit them. Screening takes place in the NGI Lecture Theatre followed by a post show discussion featuring speakers from the film.
A drinks reception in the stunning NGI courtyard will round off the evening’s proceedings.

The Film Network 2018
The Film Network is an award-winning multi-day conference on the inner workings of the film industry in Ireland and beyond. This year’s conference will be taking place from Friday 19th – Saturday 20th of January 2018 in Wynns Hotel on Abbey Street.
On Friday evening they will host a moderated panel discussion about the state of the Irish film industry, which will conclude with networking drinks in the hotel bar. The Saturday will then be comprised of focused talks on various fields within the film industry, with tea and coffee breaks in between. So far they have confirmed some pretty exciting guests for this year’s conference, including the Chair of the Irish Film Board and an esteemed director of the BAFTA-Award-winning TV drama, Happy Valley.
