Heroes in Hiding – New Single “Sunday Best”

Heroes in Hiding have just released their new single “Sunday Best”. The song is already on their Spotify and you can listen to it here!

Bio
Heroes in Hiding are an alternative rock band with a vibrant touch of electronics. Based in Dublin, the 4-piece formed as it is today in 2013
but have been playing music together for over ten years. In that time, they have worked hard to develop an ever-evolving, captivating sound and unique live performance.

Following winning RTE’s ‘Play the Picnic’ competition, an RTE Late Late Show TV performance, an RTE Choice Music Prize nomination and the release of their critically acclaimed album “ACTOR”, HIH used much of 2019 and the sudden shut down of the music industry during the Covid-19 pandemic to take stock and begin creating new music that demonstrates an evolution in their songwriting. ‘Sunday Best’ which will be released on 30th October 2020, was written, produced and recorded in isolation during Ireland’s first lockdown in early 2020. This process involved the 4 members emailing individual recordings of their instruments back and forth for weeks until they finally settled on an arrangement of the song that
best represented the essence of ’Sunday Best’. The song exists both in the band’s bedrooms and in their emails. It is a song specific to the surreal situation that birthed it.

Towards the end of the production process, the band decided to collaborate with Brian Dillon (Meltybrains) and Kevin Foran (New Brass Kings) to add piano and trumpets respectively. This decision was made as, at the time, playing with other musicians was impossible due to covid restrictions and the band felt this was the best way to create a sense of togetherness that we were all so desperately craving.

The track was mixed and mastered by Martin Quinn in Jam Studios (Aine Cahill, The Strypes, Ham Sandwich).
